The Office of the President is embarking on several initiatives with regard to vision impairment. This is a result of a courtesy call on Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes ORTT, by representatives of the Trinidad and Tobago Blind Welfare Association, Advocates of the Blind and Vision Impaired, Persons Associated with Visual Impairment and Volunteers for World Sight Day.

On March 14, staff of the Office of the President will have their eyes screened for Glaucoma by a team of experts provided by the above associations.

Her Excellency has also arranged training for OTP staff in how to treat with the disabled.
