The President’s House Heritage Tour and Exhibition

The President’s House Heritage Tour and Exhibition

As part of the commemorations marking the 150th anniversary of The President’s House and the 50th anniversary of the Presidency, members of the public are invited to participate in a Special Anniversary Public Heritage Tour and Exhibition, taking place August 17 to 21 and August 24 to 28, 2026.

This unique opportunity will allow visitors to explore one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most significant national landmarks and gain a deeper appreciation of its history, architecture, and evolving role in the life of the nation.

Completed in 1876, The President’s House has witnessed generations of national development and historic change. From its origins as the residence of colonial governors to its present role as the official residence of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the building stands as a symbol of our nation’s journey from colonial rule to sovereign statehood.

Individuals, families, and groups of up to ten (10) persons are welcome to apply for these special anniversary tours. Each guided tour will last approximately one and a half hours and will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn more about the history of The President’s House, the Office of the President, and the constitutional role of the Presidency.

While the Office of the President ordinarily offers public tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year, The President’s House Heritage Tour and Exhibition will provide expanded opportunities for members of the public to visit and experience this important national institution during the commemorative period.
