It is with growing concern that I have been following in the media, both traditional and social, the escalating tensions surrounding Sections 13 and 16 of the Sexual Offences Act and the recent judgment of our Court on the constitutionality of those provisions.

Press Release: Erroneous Social Media Message

It has come to the attention of Her Excellency President Paula-Mae Weekes that there is currently in circulation on social media, a message stating that the President refused to act upon the Prime Minister’s advice and appoint Darryl Smith as Minister in the Ministry of Housing.
