Appointment of Mr Roger Macedo to the Integrity Commission

Mr. Roger Macedo took the oath of office to be appointed as a Member and Deputy Chairman, Integrity Commission before Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago today, January 14, 2025 at the Office of the President.

Mr. Roger Macedo is a seasoned IT leader with over 30 years of experience, especially in the area of cybersecurity.

Having completed his tertiary education at Miami Dade Community College in Miami Florida, Mr. Macedo began his working life at British American Tobacco. He moved to Ernst & Young Caribbean Limited in 2001 and ended there in 2015 as Project Manager.

From May 2019 to the present, he has been Director of Cybersecurity and Manager of the Security Operations Centre at Daigon Consulting Limited where he has responsibility for developing and implementing the overall cybersecurity strategy for the company.

Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago congratulated Mr. Macedo and wished him every success in the new position.

ABOUT OUR SEVEN PRESIDENTS Trinidad and Tobago gained its first President when we became a Republic on 1 August, 1976. Before that, the Head of State of Trinidad and Tobago was the Queen of England. The Queen was represented by a Governor before Trinidad and Tobago's Independence in 1962 and a Governor-General thereafter. The 1976 Constitution abolished the position of Governor-General and established the Office of President.Sir Ellis Clarke became the first President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in 1976. Sir Ellis was an attorney and diplomat, and one of the main architects of Trinidad and Tobago's 1962 Independence constitution.
