The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago was presented to Mr. Wendell Mottley by President Weekes yesterday, Thursday November 1st. Mr. Mottley was awarded this country’s highest honour in recognition of his service to his country in the spheres of national development and public service.

Councillor Petal-Ann Roberts took the Oath of Office as a Secretary in the Executive Council of the Tobago House of Assembly before Her Excellency, Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, at a ceremony at the Office of the President, today, Friday June 28, 2024.Also in attendance at the ceremony was Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, the Honourable Farley Chavez Augustine.Ms. Roberts is a Chartered Certified Accountant with fifteen years of dedicated experience in the Tobago House of Assembly’s Public Service. After graduating from Signal Hill Comprehensive School, she has achieved various levels of ACCA qualification including certificates in Public Financial Management and Advanced Taxation. She previously served in the capacity of Senior Financial Analyst from 2011 to 2017 and as Chief Management Accountant under the Division of Finance and Office of the Chief Secretary from 2017 to the present. On Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20, June the form 4 students of Bishop's Centenary College visited the Office of the President as part of the School Tours project which seeks to make the President's House more accessible. The tours also serve as a teaching opportunity with guided tours of the grounds and the President's House. Students learn about the flora and fauna on the grounds, the credential's room, the history of the House and the role and function of the Presidency. Two students also get the honour of a short car ride in the President's limo.. The students who toured on Tuesday got the opportunity to meet Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
