With this sentiment at heart, Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia SC, First Gentleman, hosted Steelpan Royale: An Evening of Elegance on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at The President’s House.
Musical brilliance met national pride at Christmas time. Guests were treated to a celebration of the soul of Trinidad and Tobago by steelpan legends Dr. Ray Holman, pioneering composer, arranger, and educator; Dr. Len “Boogsie” Sharpe, one of the most renowned pannists our nation has produced; and Ms. Natasha Joseph, distinguished arranger, composer, producer, and steelpan ambassador. They were all accompanied by musical maestro Dr. Pelham Goddard and band. Dr. Edward Cumberbatch and the iconic Lydians Singers lent their voices to bring the evening to a close, marking a night of culture and pure artistry.
The Office of the President extends heartfelt appreciation to those who worked to make this historic event a reality, including producers Mr. Ainsworth Mohammed and team: Mr. Michael Dinchong and Mrs. Elizabeth Dinchong.
