Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, joined Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago, an organisation for which she is patron, for its Women Build 2026, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
During her visit, Her Excellency toured the site, interacted with volunteers and participated in the painting of the house, alongside members of staff of the Office of the President and volunteers from across the national community.
Held under the theme “Let’s Open the Door…”, the initiative took on special significance this year, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity International and Trinidad and Tobago’s 50th anniversary as a Republic.
Habitat for Humanity, which began its work in Trinidad and Tobago in 1997, is a global nonprofit organisation working with communities to help people build or improve homes and access decent places to live. Its Women Build initiative brings together women from all walks of life to assist in the construction of homes for families in need.
