At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the Armistice began — an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations.
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, joined government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and military personnel in the laying of a ceremonial wreath at the Cenotaph at Memorial Park, in observance of the National Day of Remembrance 2025.
For Commonwealth nations around the world, Remembrance Day serves to honour the courage and gallantry of those who served their country during the World Wars and to acknowledge those who continue to serve today.
