Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago attended the premiere of Downton Abbey last Thursday evening as a guest of The Shelter, a Safe House for victims of domestic violence.
The Shelter hosted the premiere of this much anticipated movie as a fundraiser for its ongoing efforts to provide temporary housing, material assistance and counselling to victims of domestic violence, empowering them to return to society as independent, confident citizens. President Weekes was more than pleased to support such a worthy cause.
