Condolences on the Passing of Dr. Mansoor Ibrahim

Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, extends sincere condolences to the family, friends, and the wider Muslim community on the passing of Dr. Mansoor Ibrahim, former Head of the Anjuman Sunnat ul Jamaat Association Inc. (ASJA) and a distinguished servant of community and country.

For more than six decades, Dr. Ibrahim dedicated himself to the medical profession, providing compassionate care to generations of families, particularly in underserved communities across Port of Spain and its environs. His commitment to service extended beyond medicine through his leadership in ASJA, his work with the Inter-Religious Organisation, and his advocacy for understanding, equality and harmony among people of different faiths and backgrounds.

A recipient of the Chaconia Medal (Silver) for Community Service in 1997, Dr. Ibrahim leaves a legacy defined not simply by his many accomplishments, but by the lives he touched through his faith, humility, mentorship and unwavering commitment to helping others.

His remarkable journey—from growing up in East Port of Spain to becoming a medical doctor and returning home to serve his community—stands as an enduring reminder that excellence is most meaningful when placed in the service of humanity.

Her Excellency extends heartfelt condolences to Dr. Ibrahim’s family and loved ones and joins the nation in honouring a life dedicated to faith, service and community.

May his memory continue to inspire future generations to serve with compassion, humility and purpose.

One week ago, Trinidad and Tobago gathered for the 57th National Awards Ceremony, an evening dedicated to celebrating citizens whose service and achievements continue to contribute to the nation’s story. The ceremony was especially significant as the nation marked 50 years as a Republic, bringing together National Awardees, past recipients of the Trinity Cross and Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, distinguished guests and members of the national community.Welcoming guests with the sound of steel, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra set the tone for an evening of celebration. From the stirring rendition of the National Anthem by young pannist Daniel Gulston of the Down Syndrome Family Network, to the vibrant presentation by the Khalnayak Academy of Dance, and a moving performance of The Impossible Dream by LeAndra, the evening also celebrated the richness of our culture and the promise of generations to come.As we reflect on an evening that honoured service and celebrated achievement, we share some moments from the 57th National Awards Ceremony. 📸See link to the event album: flic.kr/s/aHBqjD68sc ...
