Celebrating 63 Years of Independence

Celebrating 63 Years of Independence

On August 31, 2025, Trinidad and Tobago marks a momentous milestone — the 63rd Anniversary of our nation’s independence. On this remarkable occasion, we pay tribute to the dedication and sacrifice that has shaped our nation’s journey.

In honour of this day, Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and First Gentleman Kerwyn Garcia SC, took the time to personally visit the men and women of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF). The four formations — The Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, Coast Guard, Air Guard, and Reserves — were acknowledged for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding our sovereignty and ensuring our nation’s security.

Her Excellency commended these brave individuals for their discipline, resilience, and service. Her Excellency shared that although our 63rd Independence may look different, the pride our nation feels remains undiminished. The TTDF embodies the very spirit of what it means to be Trinidadian and Tobagonian.

On behalf of all the citizens of this proud nation, Her Excellency extended a heartfelt thank you to the men and women of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, recognizing their vital role in the continued prosperity and peace of our beloved twin-island republic.

Together, we celebrate 63 years of freedom, unity, and progress.
