One of the esteemed duties of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is to receive Letters of Credence from incoming Ambassadors and High Commissioners.On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Mr. Balázs Heincz, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Anyel Sosa Felipe, presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.A Letter of Credence is a formal diplomatic letter that grants accreditation to an envoy, authorizing them to act on behalf of their Head of State. Prakash Deonarine Appointed to the Rank of Senior Counsel On the advice of the Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, presented the instrument of appointment to Mr. Prakash Deonarine, to the rank of Senior Counsel, at a presentation ceremony at The President’s House, today, Wednesday July 10, 2024. Mr. Prakash Deonarine is a Senior Advocate Attorney and Managing Partner at Girwar and Deonarine. He was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln’s Inn and is also admitted to practice in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Deonarine began his legal career as a Member of the Criminal Bar. After a decade in criminal law, Mr. Deonarine transitioned to civil and commercial litigation. He is presently the head of the Litigation Department at Girwar and Deonarine, overseeing a range of corporate and commercial matters. With over 40 years of legal experience, Mr. Deonarine has appeared in numerous high-profile cases including before the Privy Council and Arbitral Courts.
