Ms Denise Duncan took her Oath of Office as a Commissioner of the Equal Opportunity Commission before Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the Office of the President yesterday.
Ms Duncan comes to the Equal Opportunity Commission after a distinguished career in the Public Service culminating in the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Administration and Communications.
Previously, Ms Duncan served in similar positions first at the Ministry of Legal Affairs and then the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Following her studies in Human Resource Management at Middlesex University Business School, Ms Duncan became the Senior Human Resource Manager at the Office of the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs from 2001 to 2005 and later the Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Tourism until 2013.
Throughout her career, Ms Duncan focused on staff management, operations planning and particularly on recruitment, resolving issues for both monthly and daily paid workers and the management of contracts, acquiring the skills to develop, coach and motivate staff while maintaining contact with executives at all levels.
