Appointment of Ms Jacqueline Wilson to the Elections and Boundaries Commission

On Monday 25th May 2026, Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, administered the Oath of Office and presented the Instrument of Appointment to Ms Jacqueline Wilson as Member and Chairman of the Elections and Boundaries Commission during a ceremony held at The President’s House.

Ms Jacqueline Wilson is a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and former Director in the Governance and Institutional Development Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Holding a Master of Arts in Political Science with a major in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Public Administration from the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Ms Wilson has played a significant role in public sector transformation in Trinidad and Tobago.

She helped establish the first Ministry of Public Administration and Information, served as the first Secretary to the Police Complaints Authority, contributed to the redesign of the Environmental Management Authority, and later assisted in establishing the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

From 2007, she served at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, supporting public sector development across Commonwealth member states. Since retiring from the Public Service, Ms Wilson has continued to provide strategic advisory support to governments, ministries, statutory authorities, and regional institutions.

Her contributions to national development and public administration have been recognised through the Public Service Medal of Merit (Gold) in 2017, the Gordon Draper Award for Public Service Transformation in 2023, and recognition as one of the fifty (50) Most Influential Public Servants in Trinidad and Tobago.
