On Wednesday 21 January 2026, Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia, S.C., First Gentleman, commenced their 2026 programme of school visits with four schools in the St. George East Education district.
As part of the ongoing thrust to educate students on the role and responsibilities of the President, Their Excellencies engaged in interactive sessions with the Standard Five students of each school, followed by general assemblies with the wider student and staff population. Her Excellency addressed and interacted with the audience and witnessed a variety of cultural performances by the students.
The visits to Arima Boys’ Government Primary School, (the First Gentleman’s alma mater), Arima Girls’ Government Primary School, Arima Girls’ R.C. Primary School, and Arima Boys’ R.C. Primary School brought to 48 the total number of schools visited by Their Excellencies since the launch of the School Visit Programme in January 2024.
