Mr Roger Berkley appointed to the Public Service Commission

Mr. Roger Berkeley took the Oath of Office to be appointed as a Member of the Public Service Commission before Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on October 17, 2025 at the Office of the President.

Mr. Roger Berkeley has an extensive background in Human Relations with over 25 years of experience in both operational and strategic roles, working with local and multinational organizations and partnering with senior management, cross-functional teams and employees at all levels.

Having graduated from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Management Studies in 1994, and a Diploma and Master’s in Human Resource Management from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, Mr. Berkeley served in Human Resource Management in a number of organizations including the Tatil Group, AIC Financial Services, Allied Caterers Limited and J M Jaleel and Company Limited. From 2017 to 2024, he was the Vice-President, Human Resources at Caribbean Airlines Limited.

Mr. Berkeley has also given of his time to his alma mater, Queen’s Royal College, serving in various capacities in the QRC Old Boys Association including as Director from 2020 to the present. He was appointed National Scout Commissioner from October 2014, having previously served as the Group Scout leader for QRC Scouts from 2000 to 2014. He was also the Director and Chair of the HR Committee of the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago congratulated Mr. Berkeley and wished him every success in the new position.

Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of of Trinidad and Tobago, extends condolences on the passing of Mr. Errol Alphege Grant, former Police Inspector, teacher, and horse-riding coach for the Special Olympics.The Civilian Riding Programme, an offshoot of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Mounted Branch, is where Mr. Grant became involved with the Special Olympics around 1996. He loved working with children and adults with special needs and devoted his time to teaching them.In a 2016 interview with Shaun Rambaran, when asked what drew him to working with persons with special needs, Mr. Grant responded, “I like to see things grow. I like agriculture — you plant a seed, you plant a tree.” He continued, “And I hate disadvantage.
