Re-appointments to the Procurement Board and Public Service Commission

On Tuesday March 18, 2025, Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, presided over the Swearing-in Ceremony for the reappointments of Ms Natasha Ashby as a member of the Procurement Board; and Dr. Katija Khan as a member of the Public Service Commission.

Ms. Natasha Ashby was first appointed as a member of the Procurement Board in March 2021. She is an Attorney-at-Law with over 23 years post qualification experience and substantive practice in Senior Management and professional roles in the aviation and energy sectors in legal, financial and commercial functions. Ms Ashby provides leadership and guidance on legal, compliance, governance and business issues to corporate and operational functions as well as an internal cadre of attorneys.

Having first been appointed in March 2022, Dr. Katija Khan brought over 20 years’ experience in applying evidence based psychological principles to empower the development of individuals organisations and communities to achieve healthy, adaptive productive and fulfilling functioning. Dr. Khan is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, clinician, academic, scientist and mental health advocate. Dr. Khan, who holds a Doctorate in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Research Training from the University of Hull, England, a Post Graduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of the West Indies.

Her Excellency thanked Ms Ashby and Dr. Khan for their continued service to Trinidad and Tobago.

On Saturday 11th October, 2025, Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Kerwyn Garcia, S.C., First Gentleman attended the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Syrian Lebanese Women’s Association of Trinidad and Tobago. Their Excellencies were first taken on a guided tour of a ‘living museum’ which showcased the rich history, traditions and contributions of the SLWA and the wider Syrian-Lebanese community in Trinidad and Tobago.
