How does someone receive a National Award? 🇹🇹🏅 The journey begins with you, the citizens!🔹 Members of the public are invited to submit nominations to the National Awards Committee, chaired by the Chief Justice.🔹 The Committee reviews the nominations and forwards its recommendations to the Prime Minister.🔹 The Prime Minister may accept, reject, or add to these recommendations, and then advises the President.🔹 With the consent of the nominee, the President confers the Award at the National Awards Ceremony on Republic Day.✨ The National Awards provide an opportunity to honour anyone who has served the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.#NationalAwards2025 #RepublicDay #OFFICEOFTHEPRESIDENT #trinidadandtobago ... The countdown to National Awards 2025 is on! 🇹🇹 ✨🏅The National Awards are a tribute to citizens and non-citizens who have rendered distinguished, meritorious service, or acts of gallantry to Trinidad and Tobago. All citizens and non-nationals of distinction, whether living or deceased, are eligible to be recognised with a National Award, with the exception of the Public Service Medal of Merit which is awarded only to citizens.Hosted each year by the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the National Awards Ceremony was once held on the evening of Independence Day, but since 2017, it has been celebrated on Republic Day — September 24th.🏅 The National Awards are presented in five (5) categories across thirteen (13) classes:🔹 Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (Gold only)🔹 Chaconia Medal (Gold, Silver, Bronze)🔹 Hummingbird Medal (Gold, Silver, Bronze)🔹 Public Service Medal of Merit (Gold, Silver, Bronze)🔹 Medal for the Development of Women (Gold, Silver, Bronze)✨ On Republic Day, we honour those who embody the very best of service, sacrifice, and excellence in our beloved nation.#NationalAwards2025 #RepublicDay #OFFICEOFTHEPRESIDENT #trinidadandtobago ...
