Former Auditor General Lorelly Pujadas has been appointed a Member of the Integrity Commission of Trinidad and Tobago.
Ms Pujadas took the Oath of Office on Friday at President’s House before Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
Lorelly Pujadas obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta in 1980 and began work in 1981 in the Civil Service of Trinidad and Tobago and was promoted to the position of Budget Analyst in 1983.
She was awarded a scholarship to pursue the professional accountancy examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and graduated in 1987, becoming a Budget Analyst II in the following year.
Ms Pujadas steadily rose through the ranks eventually becoming Deputy Auditor General in 2015. During this time, she became a Fellow of the Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation.
For four years from 2008, Ms Pujadas served as the Institutional Strengthening Manager of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions working on the design and development of manuals for use by members of the Caribbean Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions.
From 2015 to 2019, she was the Trinidad and Tobago representative on the CARICOM Audit Committee.
In 2019, Ms Pujadas was appointed Auditor General by the then President, a position which she held until her voluntary retirement last year.
