Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, received a courtesy call from Mr. Rudranath Maharaj Principal of the Hugh Wooding Law School on Tuesday August 12, 2025. Mr. Maharaj, officially assumed the position on August 1, 2025 having been appointed by the Council of Legal Education (CLE).![]()

Mr. Maharaj has been a practicing attorney for 28 years and is a trained mediator. He has been a lecturer at the Hugh Wooding Law School since 2005. He has served as senior tutor II and course director in probate practice and procedure at HWLS.![]()

During the visit, His Excellency presented a Commemorative 50th Anniversary Pin in recognition of 50 years of diplomatic relations, marked by the signing of the Lomé Convention in 1975. This partnership, rooted in trade, development, and shared values, has seen significant strengthening over the years.![]()
