For 100 years, the Tackveeyatul Islamic Association (TIA) has demonstrated the enduring power of faith, education and service in shaping lives and strengthening communities.
On Saturday July 11, 2026, Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia S.C., First Gentleman, joined members of the Association in celebrating this historic milestone.
Delivering the feature address, Her Excellency reflected on the indispensable role that institutions such as TIA play in nation-building through education, service and the formation of character. She reminded those gathered that, “Time alone does not make a centenary. Faithfulness does,” noting that the true measure of an institution lies not simply in its longevity, but in its enduring commitment to serving others and strengthening the nation.
Her Excellency congratulated the Tackveeyatul Islamic Association on its landmark anniversary and for a century of faithful service to Trinidad and Tobago.
