Since Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia S.C., First Gentleman, launched the School Visit Programme in January 2024, they have visited sixty (60) schools nationwide, engaging students in every education district across Trinidad and Tobago.
The ongoing initiative has provided thousands of students with the opportunity to engage directly with the President and gain a deeper understanding of the Presidency and its role in national life.
On Monday 15 June 2026, St. Thomas (Mayaro) R.C. Primary School, Mayaro Government Primary School and Mafeking Government Primary School became the latest institutions to participate in the programme as Their Excellencies visited schools in the South Eastern Education District.
At each school, students and staff warmly welcomed Their Excellencies, followed by interactive sessions with upper-school students on the roles and responsibilities of the President. Students were encouraged to ask questions and share their perspectives, resulting in lively and meaningful exchanges. The visits also featured cultural presentations, showcasing the creativity, talent and pride of the school communities while celebrating Trinidad and Tobago’s rich cultural heritage.
