Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia SC, First Gentleman, hosted fifty-two students of San Fernando Girls’ Anglican Primary School for an exciting edition of Storytime at The President’s House on Wednesday 22nd April, 2026.
The Storytime initiative promotes literacy, comprehension, and a love of reading, while building confidence through public speaking.
Students explored the featured book, That Amazing Capybara by Alisa Gomez, with staff of the Office of the President, and later joined Their Excellencies for an interactive reading and discussion session. Their Excellencies engaged the students in lively conversations on the key themes and messages of the book, and readily responded to their many questions about their lives and experiences in public service.
