Down syndrome is one of the most common genetic conditions worldwide. Yet, despite its prevalence, many persons with Down syndrome continue to face misunderstanding and stigma about what they can achieve and the experiences that shape their lives
This year’s theme, “Together Against Loneliness,” reminds us that inclusion is not just about being present—it is about feeling welcomed, connected and part of everyday life. While progress has been made, many persons with disabilities still face barriers—not only to opportunity, but to a true sense of belonging.
Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia SC, First Gentleman encourage all citizens to play their part in building a society where persons with Down syndrome are fully included and supported to thrive.
