School visits for the year 2025 commenced on Tuesday February 18, 2025 with Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and First Gentleman Kerwyn Garcia, S.C. visiting three schools in the Port of Spain District.
Moulton Hall Methodist Primary School, which was the first stop of the day, was the 31st school visited since the launch of the programme in January 2024. These school visits seek to educate students at the upper primary and secondary level on the roles and responsibilities of the President as well as engage students in discussions on the Presidency.
Their Excellencies then went on to St. Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain, where they met with the Form 6 students for a discourse on the Presidency, and the duties and responsibilities of the President as outlined in Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Their Excellencies then met with the entire student body where Her Excellency shared words of encouragement and inspiration with the students. To Their Excellencies’ delight, the school’s choir then performed a beautiful rendition of ‘Ole time Days’ by Richard Nappy Mayers.
The final stop of the day was St. Mary’s College. The boys in white and blue were extremely proud to sing their school song for Their Excellencies. Prior to this, Their Excellencies met with the students of Form 6 where they engaged the young men in an engaging discussion on the roles and functions of the President as spelt out in the Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago. This brings to 33 the number of schools visited by Their Excellencies since January 2024.
