For the second time this week, the Office of the President was delighted to welcome students of the Scholastic Academy as well as members of the TTARP Eastern Angels Arima Zone for tours of The President’s House and grounds. Both morning and afternoon groups had a wonderful time exploring the grounds, learning about the flora and fauna of the area and visiting the rooms of the official residence of the President of Trinidad and Tobago. The Desperadoes Steel Orchestra has a rich history of innovation, international performances, and awards. The band was originally called the "Laventille Band" and then the "Dead End Kids" . In the 1950s, three Laventille bands merged to form the Desperadoes and in 1965 the band's sponsor changed to the West Indian Tobacco Company. ![]()
