Appointment to the Elections and Boundaries Commission

Ms. Roslyn Khan-Cummings, former Diplomat and Senior Executive in International Affairs, Sustainable Development and Good Governance has been re-appointed as a Member of the Elections and Boundaries Commission.

Ms. Khan-Cummings, a Public Service Medal of Merit Gold holder, holds a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science and International Studies.

For the second time this week, the Office of the President was delighted to welcome students of the Scholastic Academy as well as members of the TTARP Eastern Angels Arima Zone for tours of The President’s House and grounds. Both morning and afternoon groups had a wonderful time exploring the grounds, learning about the flora and fauna of the area and visiting the rooms of the official residence of the President of Trinidad and Tobago. #Celebrating60years Desperados Steel Orchestra hosted its stakeholder night on Tuesday February 18, 2025 at its Pan Theatre on George Street POS as West Indian Tobacco Company Limited (WITCO) celebrated 60 years of partnership with Desparados Steel Orchestra. Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and First Gentleman, Kerwyn Garcia SC attended the event and were greeted by Ms Ingrid Lashley Chairman WITCO, Hiram Murillo, Managing Director WITCO and Selby Browne, Vice Chair, Desperados Steel Orchestra, The Desperadoes Steel Orchestra has a rich history of innovation, international performances, and awards. The band was originally called the "Laventille Band" and then the "Dead End Kids" . In the 1950s, three Laventille bands merged to form the Desperadoes and in 1965 the band's sponsor changed to the West Indian Tobacco Company.
