Appointment of Five Commissioners to the Regulated Industries Commission

Five Commissioners took the oath of office before Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to be re-appointed to the Regulated Industries Commission. The ceremony took place on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at the President’s House.
The five reappointed commissioners, who will serve for a period of three years are:

Dr. Dave Seerattan
Mr. Earl Wilson
Mr. Cristian Mora
Mr. Fulton Oswald Wilson
Ms. Christine Parris- DeBique

Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, O.R.T.T., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago congratulated the Commissioners, thanked them for their service and wished them every success.

Mr. Roger Macedo is a seasoned IT leader with over 30 years of experience, especially in the area of cybersecurity.Having completed his tertiary education at Miami Dade Community College in Miami Florida, Mr. Macedo began his working life at British American Tobacco. He moved to Ernst & Young Caribbean Limited in 2001 and ended there in 2015 as Project Manager. ABOUT OUR SEVEN PRESIDENTS Trinidad and Tobago gained its first President when we became a Republic on 1 August, 1976. Before that, the Head of State of Trinidad and Tobago was the Queen of England. The Queen was represented by a Governor before Trinidad and Tobago's Independence in 1962 and a Governor-General thereafter. The 1976 Constitution abolished the position of Governor-General and established the Office of President.Sir Ellis Clarke became the first President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in 1976. Sir Ellis was an attorney and diplomat, and one of the main architects of Trinidad and Tobago's 1962 Independence constitution. Before becoming President, Sir Ellis also served as the second and last Governor-General, taking over from Sir Solomon Hochoy in 1972. Sir Ellis served as President until March 19, 1987.
