55th National Awards Ceremony

The 55th National Awards Ceremony took place yesterday, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the President’s House. A heartfelt congratulations to all 65 of our National Awardees! Your dedication and service to Trinidad and Tobago have been invaluable in fostering the growth of our diverse nation.

The staff of President’s House warmly welcomed the awardees, their guests, and the many distinguished dignitaries who gathered to honor 62 of the 65 awardees recognized for their outstanding contributions across various fields. Unfortunately, three awardees were unable to attend.

Guests were greeted by a vibrant display of culture with performances from the Fatima College Drumming Ensemble, the NGC Trinidad and Tobago Sweet Tassa band from Princes Town, and the Chinese Art and Culture Studies Society, who performed a dragon dance.

During the cocktail reception, the Palo Seco Secondary School Orchestra serenaded the crowd with sweet steelpan music. Their Excellencies, President Christine Carla Kangaloo O.R.T.T. and First Gentleman Kerwyn Garcia S.C., were introduced to the orchestra during their visit to the school in 2023.
