Presentation of Credentials – Ambassador-Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic

His Excellency Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona, ORTT, SC President of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago received Letters of Credence from His Excellency Silvio Mignano, Ambassador-Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on January 26, 2016 at the Office of the President.

Accompanying the Ambassador was Miss Narda Elisa Zapata Soria Galvarro, Mr Lorenza Silinas, First Secretary Embassy of Italy based in Caracas, Venezuela and Ms Shira Mohammed, Honorary Consul for Italy in Trinidad.

At the start of the ceremony, the Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency.

As is customary on these occasions, students from various secondary schools were invited to witness the ceremony.  This provides them with an opportunity to interact with the President and the Ambassador and also affords their Excellencies the opportunity to offer encouraging words of advice to the students.  The teachers accompanying the students are also afforded the opportunity to witness the ceremony.

On this occasion the main message that was imparted to the students was the value of education and the need to persevere and cultivate the self-will to realise their goals
