Lunch with The President is an initiative of His Excellency since assuming office in a bid to allow the nation’s students at the primary level the opportunity to engage the President in an informal setting, where they can ask questions and share their thoughts.
His Excellency Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona ORTT, SC President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, hosted eleven (11) students from various primary schools to have lunch with him on November 28, 2014.
Among these students was a ten year old girl by the name of Ariel Martin of St Gabriel’s Girls R.C. School, San Fernando who wrote a letter to the President, independent of her parents or teachers, expressing her desire to become the first female President of Trinidad and Tobago.
In her letter Miss Martin asked if The President was able to take some time from his very busy schedule to visit her at her school for that will make her the happiest child alive and it would be her best Christmas gift ever.
His Excellency granted Miss Martin and her mother who accompanied her to the Office of The President, a private audience and engaged her in conversation regarding her education and ambition and wished her every success in life.
