Congratulatory Message to Dr Wayne A. I. Frederick M.D., MBA on his appointment as the 17th President of Howard University

His Excellency Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmon ORTT, SC President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago extends congratulations to Trinidad born scholar, surgeon, researcher and administrator Dr Wayne A.I. Frederick, M.D., MBA who was elected the 17th President of Howard University, Washington, DC, United States of America on March 6, 2015.

In his congratulatory message, His Excellency stated that the pride felt by every citizen that a son of our soil has attained this prestigious honour and accolade is heartfelt.  The contributions made by Dr Frederick in his varying fields of endeavour are to be applauded and Howard University is indeed privileged to be led by someone of such exceptional calibre, pedigree and dedication.

President Carmona further stated in his message, that to be appointed President of Howard University by unanimous vote of the Presidential Search Committee is testament to the high esteem with which Dr Frederick is regarded by his peers and it can be said without reservation that our indomitable sense of pride for you runs deep, as we join in celebrating this momentous occasion of your elevation and inauguration to such a prestigious position.

The President also made mention that although many of Dr Frederick’s accomplishments have been made beyond our shores, he has never forgotten his homeland and maintains strong bonds.  His perseverance and consequent success has sent an eternal message of what the results of hard work, sacrifice and commitment can yield and the future of Howard University is assured under Dr Frederick’s charge and he will in the spirit of veritas et utillitas, keep Howard University focused on its visionary path to excellence.
